Patricia R. Radley, 92, of Ilion, passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, June 26, 2015, with her family by her side. She was born on January 4, 1923 in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Norman H. and Gladys (Spitzmiller) Rheinhardt and was a graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville, and Jordan Conservatory of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. On September 9, 1945 she was united in marriage with Grover W. Radley, Jr in Evansville, Indiana. He passed away on November 26, 2005.
Pat was a professional musician, playing the oboe and English Horn, with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Fabian Sevitsky, and later with the Little Falls Symphony. For many years she taught oboe and English Horn, and at one time directed the Methodist Boys Choir. She was active with the Ilion Little Theater Club, directing several plays. She was also a member of the Travelers Club and the Shakespeare Club. Pat was an accomplished bridge player and enjoyed classical music.
But above all, her family was the center of her life.
Pat is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and John Minehan of Westport, Connecticut, and Sarah and Robert Stein of Rockport, Maine; and two sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey and Brenda Rheinhardt of Clinton and Eric and Lynne Rheinhardt of Cooperstown. She also leaves eighteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jane, and two brothers, Roy and John.
The family wishes to express its sincere thanks to her caregivers, Cindy, Linda, Leslie and Sierra for their friendship, kindness and compassion. They would also like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice and Palliaitve Care for the care and kindness shown during Pat's last days.
In keeping with Pat's wishes there will be no calling hours, and the funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, New York. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to consider memorials to the Ilion Little Theater Club, % Mary Lee Lynch, 293 Cast Hill Rd., Herkimer, NY
