Ann E. Watkins, 90, of 80 East North Street, Ilion passed away Wednesday April 6, 2016 at Alpine Rehab in Little Falls, NY. Ann was born on April 7, 1925 in Richfield Springs, NY the daughter of the late Edward and Sophie Hugick Kroll Sr. and received her education in the Richfield Springs School. On May 3 1947 Ann was united in marriage with Raymond Watkins in Richfield Springs, Ray passed away on February 26, 1982.
For many years Ann was the Clerk in the Garden Center in Walmart in Herkimer, where she worked until she was 82 years young.
Ann was a member of the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion, she was also a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Rosary Society
.
Ann is survived by three sons and daughters in law Keith and Penny Watkins of Mohawk, Mike and Diane Watkins of Pulaski, Raymond and Kathleen Watkins of MD, a daughter and son in law Karen and Gary Van Evera of Ilion, a brother in law and his wife, Richard and Betty Watkins of Mohawk, and a sister in law Elaine Kroll of Herkimer, also 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ann was the last member of her family of 5, and was predeceased by a daughter Teresa, and her best friend Helen Wren.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held on Sunday April 10, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street, Ilion , with the funeral at 4:00 PM with Sr. Mary Jo Tallman officiating.
Interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday April 11, 2016 in the Mohawk Cemetery.
The family would like a special Thank You to Dr. Sawyer, Dr. Morrow and the staff at Bassett, Alpine Rehab and Kay and Rose at Prindle Apartments for all the care and support during Ann's life.
