Anna Shahan Kelly, 99, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Hospeace House in Naples, NY.
Anna, born on January 29, 1913 in Newport, NY, was the daughter of the late George and Rose Soukey Shahan.
She was a graduate of
Ilion Schools and Ryder College.
On July 12, 1941 Anna was united in marriage with Lewis M. Kelly, a union which lasted until his passing in 1969.
Mrs. Kelly's professional career was as a payroll clerk for UNIVAC.
She was a member of
the Church of the Annunciation, the Business Women's Club and the Mohawk Valley Hospital Guild.
Anna is survived by her children and their spouses William and Sandra Kelly of Naples, NY. and Nancy and William Bronson of Mohawk, NY; grandchildren Mary Anne Bronson and companion Gary Crawford of Houston, TX; Michael and Mary Clare Bronson of Sayre, PA; Jennifer and Marc Desimone of Cumming,GA; Susan and Michael Nelson of Clinton SC; David Kelly of Washington DC; and Cheryl and John Erhardt of Canandaigua, NY.
She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Anna loved animals, working in her yard, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles.
She traveled with her family to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she treasured.
In keeping with Anna's wishes there are no calling hours and funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
