Arlene "Susie" (Cole) Miller, 62 of West Winfield, passed away on Wednesday November 22, 2017 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer.
Susie was born on February 2, 1955 in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Arlington and Beverly (Shepard) Cole.
She was a graduate of Mt. Markham and SUNY Utica Rome and worked as an Employment Trainer at One Stop in Herkimer.
On October 29, 1977 she married Gregory Miller in the Mohawk Reformed Church.
Susie loved traveling on trains and especially enjoyed the music train in Cooperstown.
Susie's dog Safire who was like her child will miss her.
Susie is survived by her husband Greg; her mother Beverly Garlock; two half-brothers David Cole of Ilion and John Cole of Herkimer; a sister in law Rosemary and her husband Ed Schaffer of Millers Mills; father in law Arthur F. Miller of Utica; uncle Tom and his wife Ann Shepard of NC; a special step sister Sandra and her husband David McKenney of Sherburn; step sister Ellen and her husband Gene Goff of Vermontville; step brother Kip and his wife Pat Garlock of Mohawk.
She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her father Arlington Cole and step father Raymond Garlock.
Susie's family wishes to thank the many special friends, relatives and caregivers who loved and supported her during her illness. Susie's beautiful smile never faded during her long, courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service for Susie will be held on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 1pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
Interment will be in the Kinne Corners Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 am until the time of the funeral.
Friends are asked to please consider memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society, the American Cancer Society or St Jude's Children's Hospital.
Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
