Ilion - Mrs. Betty L. Coy, 86, of Ilion, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Wynn Hospital in Utica.

Born in West Winfield on May 1, 1938, Betty was a daughter of the late Leo and Alice Walts. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard Coy, whom she joins in eternal rest, having been apart for just two short weeks. Betty dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a housekeeper at the Masonic Care Community in Utica, where she was appreciated for her kindness and unwavering work ethic.

A pillar of her community, Betty was actively involved with the Cedarville Fire Department Auxiliary, where she contributed her time and efforts to support local initiatives. Her generous spirit and dedication to service left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Betty's memory will be cherished by her son, Jeffrey Coy; her beloved grandson, Christian Coy (Megan Giacovelli); and her three cherished great-granddaughters, Alexandria, Ryleigh, and Olivia Coy. She also leaves behind Terri Coy, wife of the late John Coy, one brother, Dave Walts, and his wife, Mary and her in-laws, Homer and Delores Coy. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard on February 28th of this year and her son, John Coy, whose memory she always carried in her heart and two sisters, June Bunce and Bonnie Ferguson.

A graveside service will be held later in the spring, where Betty and Howard will be laid to rest in Cedarville Cemetery.
