Carol Jean Westbrook, 76, passed away August 24, 2017. She was born January 31, 1941 in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Donald and Amelia (Whitney) Evans. She was a graduate of West Canada Valley School and later obtained a degree as a paralegal assistant.
Carol was employed in various positions throughout her life. She ran a country store and the first Halloween Maze in the 70's on Cranes Corner. In the 80's she worked at HCCC, Mahanna Career Institute and then operated her own jewelry business in Little River, SC. She loved her numerous flower gardens, fruit trees, vegetables and nature in general. Her family was her greatest joy and the time she was able to spend with them was precious. She loved her companions at home a dog Betsy and a hand raised cockatiel "baby bird". Carol is survived by 5 children: Tammy Khan, Robin Westbrook, Cathy Eysaman and her husband Ed, William and his wife Wendy, Rod Westbrook and Tori. Along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Carol's memorial service will begin at 5pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 with Rev. Brian Engle officiating at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego Street., Ilion. Friends and family will gather at the funeral home from 4 to 5 with an "informal and uplifting service at 5. In keeping with Carol's wishes of no flowers please consider memorial donations to the Mohawk Reformed Church or Herkimer Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home.
