Catherine Kennedy, 96, of Ilion passed away on Saturday July 21, 2012 at Mohawk Valley Health Care in Ilion.
Catherine was born in Utica the daughter of the late Andrew and Caroline (Ciszek) Jarmuziewicz.
She married Francis J. Kennedy, who passed away several years ago.
Catherine was a graduate of Utica schools and was a member of the Church of The Annunciation in Ilion.
Catherine and her husband ran the Valley Snack bar in Ilion for several years, following that she worked at Mele Manufacturing until her retirement.
Catherine is survived by her loving son Richard Kennedy of Ilion; a daughter in law Kathleen Kennedy of Ilion; her grandchildren Darin Kennedy, Elizabeth Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy, Lisa Smith and Melissa Barnes.
She also leaves her great grandchildren Samantha, Amanda, Kassidie, Kiley, Chelsea and Shania, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was pre deceased by a son Norman Kennedy.
Funeral services for Catherine will be held on Thursday July 26, 2012 at 1:30pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion; Fr. Anthony Barratt will officiate.
Friends may call on Thursday from Noon until the time of the funeral.
Interment will follow at the Holy Trinity Cemetery on Champlain Ave. in Hew Hartford.
