Charles "Chuck" Blauvelt, Jr.

Mohawk - Charles "Chuck" W. Blauvelt, Jr., 63, of Mohawk, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at his home.
He was born on January 22, 1960 in Nyack, New York and was the son of the late, Charles and Alice (Harley) Blauvelt, Sr. Chuck was educated at Hancock Central School in Hancock, New York and graduated with the Class of 1979.
Chuck was currently employed with the Town of German Flatts in the maintenance department where he has worked for several many years.
He was an avid baseball enthusiast and was the Yankee's #1 fan and was a Los Angela's Rams fan. Chuck enjoyed collecting baseball cards and memorabilia, playing in a dart league at Stoney's Tavern in Herkimer, NY, and in earlier years, hunting and fishing. This year he was blessed with his first granddaughter, Lennyn Lee and Chuck was a proud Grandpa. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Corey L. Blauvelt and his companion, Paige Walrath of Dolgeville, NY; two sisters, Darlene Blauvelt of Kissimmee, FL and Alice Smith and her husband, Paul of Orlando, FL; nieces and nephews, James Pfluger, Tara Pfluger, Michael Smith, Darren Blauvelt, Reann Blauvelt, and Dalton Blauvelt; his friends, Mike "Stoney" and Michele Stone of Herkimer, NY and Bob Schenk; and his friend and boss, Peter Rovazzi.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego Street, Ilion, New York 13357. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 12 p.m. with Pastor Mark Hediger officiating. The family will hold a Celebration of Life reception after the funeral service that will start at 1 p.m. at the Mohawk American Legion Post 25, 43 West Main Street, Mohawk, New York 13407.
The Blauvelt family is being cared for by family friends at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street Dolgeville, New York.
