Charles J. 'Chuck' Eaker

Charles J. (Chuck) Eaker, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica.
Chuck was born July 25, 1937 in Oppenheim the son of the late Justus and Gertrude Kilts Eaker, he was educated in Mohawk and on August 10, 1960 was united in marriage with Beverly McDaniels in Intercourse, Pa.. Chuck served in the US Army and was employed with Remington Arms for many years retiring several years ago as a final assembler; he also worked at UNIVAC for a brief period. He was a member of the Ilion First Baptist Church and a fifty year member of Ilion Moose Lodge 1010.
Chuck is survived by his wife Becky, five children and their spouses Cathy and Kevin Wheelock of Frankfort, Charles N. and Lisa Eaker of Ilion, Karen Eaker Hazlett and husband Bill of Ilion, David (Big D) and Geraldine (Cheeko) Pettingill of Ilion and Keith and Jeannette Pettingill of Rome, his brother Bill Eaker, his sisters Collen Bartlett, Elaine Roberts, Sandy Meyers, Cheryl Edwards and Holly Dzimitrowicz, his pal and grandson Brett Charles Eaker, also many other grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was pre deceased by his brothers Norm Eaker and Ed Felski and his sister Joan Cress.
Funeral services at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, will be Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 6:00PM with Rev. Dr. Andrew Peloubet officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service, interment will be in Armory Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to consider memorials to The American Cancer Society in Chuck's memory.
