Christopher J. Harris of Verona, NY passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2020 at the age of 47.
Known to all as "Critter", a nickname affectionately given to him by his older brothers at a very young age.
He was a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley.
He graduated from Ilion High School in 1991 and received his Bachelor's degree from SUNY Brockport in 1995.
He dedicated his career to the needs of children and founded Community Support Services LLC with his business partner and best friend Mike Boutin.
Chris was known to all for his love for the great outdoors and the Adirondacks, specifically the family camp on Otter Lake. You could always find him on the dock fishing or kayaking with his dog, Maddie. To those who knew him, Chris was known as the friend who would drop everything to help you. His kindness, sincerity and outgoing personality would light up the room.
He was bound to make anyone laugh with his wit and humor.
To those he loved, he made sure you knew it.
His dedication to friends and family was inestimable.
The best way anyone could ever describe him was simple, "he is just a great guy".
He is survived by the greatest joys of his life, his two children, Erik and Meagan. His profound love and pride for them is immeasurable and eternal. Additionally, by his parents Wayne and Ann Harris; his siblings Steven Harris, Mark (Teresa) Harris, Kathleen (Michael) Johnson; his nieces and nephews Brittney, Kyle, Christina, Natasha, Alicia and Erica; his aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services will be held at a later date.
