Christina T. Russell passed away the Folts Nursing Center in Herkimer on July 5, 2014.
She was born on June 11, 1922 in Hopkins County Texas, the daughter of Ernest Edgar and Lillian (Carroll) Tatom.
She attended Memphis, Tennessee schools.
She was predeceased by her husband of almost 70 years, Ralph T. Russell, PhD, originally of Binghamton, NY.
Christina and Ralph lived in the Syracuse, NY area for many years where Ralph was employed as manager of Syracuse University's Life Sciences Division.
Both were big fans of Syracuse's basketball program.
She is survived by her sons James M. (Sandra) Russell of Frankfort, NY and Richard T.(Hilary) Russell of Washington, D.C., four grandchildren Michael J. Russell, Nicole W. (Richard Szydlo) Russell, Blake T. Russell, Emmeline Smith and two great grandchildren Nicholas and Zachary McMullen.
She was predeceased by her siblings Robert G. Tatom, Marlin W. Tatom and T. Marshal Gattis.
In keeping with Mrs. Russell's wishes, services and interment will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Sharma, the staffs of Claxton Manor and Folts Nursing Center for their kind care and concern.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Folts Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 104 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY 13350.
