Little Falls
Dale Anne Boudry, 58, of Little Falls, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2016; she was surrounded with her loving family and friends
Dale was born on September 6, 1957 in Ilion, the daughter of Norman and Patricia (Sponburgh) Boudry.
She was a 1975 graduate of Ilion Schools and SUNY Geneseo in 1979, she received her Masters from the College of St. Rose in 1998.
Dale enjoyed spending any free time at her camp at Pine Lake.
She would quite often entertain guests and was a very gracious host, always sending everyone home with leftovers from their delicious meal.
She became a grandmother on July 1, 2015 and this was a role she had been waiting and ready for.
Oma, as she was called, was looking forward to have a girl in the family, after raising two sons.
Emerson better known as Emmy was the start of a new journey in her life, as a grandmother.
Dale had given Emmy books to learn Spanish and German, convinced she would instill the love to learn foreign languages in her granddaughter; since it was not so successful with her sons.
Dale had a gift for not only knowing what everyone in her life collected, liked, followed, etc; but constantly finding them and giving them as gifts or keepsakes.
Dale truly had such wonderful friends, would stop what they were doing to help her sweep pine needles at camp, to take her on appointments, to share their love of music with her, and so many more.
Dale worked as a Special Education Teacher at the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville School District.
She enjoyed the challenges of teaching Special Education and learning every subject so she would be able to teach it.
Dale developed special bonds with many students and their families that extended far beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
Prior to becoming a teacher, she was employed at Herkimer Area Resource Center.
Dale was a veteran of the United States Army attained the rank of Sergeant and served overseas as part of her service to her country.
She was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church; she had been baptized in the Ilion UMC, and she was also baptized at the Little Falls Baptist Church. Dale was also active with the New York Teachers Union Regional Conference, the OESJ Teachers Union, which she had served as treasurer.
She became an avid hiker and joined the Tramp and Trail club; she looked forward to their hikes and would research them thoroughly before hand.
Dale's favortie animal is the elephant and they say the elephant never forgets; let us not forget our memories and experiences with her.
Dale is survived by her mother Patricia Couchman sons Arthur Parmer and his companion Catherine Loomis of Utica and Patrick Parmer and his wife Crystal of Little Falls; a brother William of Utica; her granddaughter Emerson Groszek-Parmer her niece Angel Boudry of Utah; and her very close friends Judith Dopp, Shane LaPorta and Delores Haynes.
