David Herlehy

David K. Herlehy, 86, of 80 East North Street Ilion passed away Thursday September 29, 2011 at St. Lukes Medical Center, New Hartford.
David was born March 22, 1925 in Little Falls, NY the son of the late David P and Anna Kane Herlehy, he received his education in the Little Falls Schools. David was a veteran of WW2 serving with the US Army from 1943-1946.
On November 20, 1946 he was united in marriage with Beverly Wood at the First Presbyterian Church in Ilion. David was employed as a supervisor with H.P. Snyder for many years until the company closed and then for three years with Beechnut in Canajoharie.
In 1986 David and his wife retired to Old Forge where he worked for 17 years at the Thendara Golf course pro shop, after his retirement from the golf course David and Beverly returned to Ilion.
Dave attended St. Bartholomew Church in Old Forge, he was a member of the Little Falls American Legion, a life member of the Thendara Golf Club where he worked in the pro shop for 17 years, and the Little Falls Municipal Golf Course.
He enjoyed building and repairing golf clubs, as well as bowling and walking.
Dave is survived by his wife Beverly, his daughter Gail A. Herlehy of Utica, a sister in law Virginia Reynolds of Ilion, nieces and nephews Sharon and her husband Thomas Vorce, Linda and her husband Jim Marco, Phyllis and her husband Bill Laymon, Donald and his wife Terry Reynolds and Timothy Herlehy.
He was predeceased by two brothers Richard F. and Daniel P. Herlehy.
In keeping with David's wishes there are no calling hours.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to their favorite charity in David's memory.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street Ilion.
