David R. 'Pappy' Wood

David R. Wood Jr. (Pappy) passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 after a brief illness. Dave was born on April 7, 1961 in Utica the son of the late David and Sharon Burritt Wood. He was educated in Mt. Markham Schools and was currently employed as an electrician at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.
Dave loved cars, boats and motorcycles, he could fix anything. Dave was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed animals, domestic and wild.
Dave is survived by his son Daniel
of Plainsboro, N.J., his partner Angie Jacopelle, six brothers and sisters Gail Pye and her companion Jeff Owens of Litchfield, Barbara Wood of Herkimer, Michael Wood of Herkimer, Erin VanDawalker and her companion Sean Miller of Bridgewater, Eric and his companion Briana Crossway of Frankfort and April and Daniel Hecker of Fayetteville, N.C, his aunt and uncle Janice and Robert Cassidy of New Hartford also several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
The family will receive visitors from 3-5 P.M. Friday November 28, 2014 at the Whiter Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, a memorial service will follow at 5:00 PM.
