David A. Edwards, 69, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He was born on November 22, 1947, in Ilion the son of the late Morton and Helen Bunce Edwards, he was a graduate of Ilion High School and was a proud Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.
Dave worked at various places, Bill Dow Blacktop and paving, Ron Bunce Blacktop, Remington Arms, MDS, UNIVAC, Kelsey Hayes, Defense Research Corp. in Florida and Alabama and Utica Corp. He was a member of the Herkimer American Legion and the Herkimer County Detachment of the Marine Corps. League.
Dave is survived by his daughter and son in law Christine and Doug Dibble of Schuyler, two sons David Jr. of Arizona and Matthew of Minnesota, two grandchildren Madison Dibble, Joey Butera and his partner Ashley Dow and their daughter Addison Butera. He is also survived by four uncles and three aunts, Ron Bunce of Frankfort, Richard and June Bunce, Curtis and Dorothy Bunce, Frederick and Donna Sterling all of W. Winfield, an aunt and uncle Sharon and Joe Rolchigo of Schuyler, Many close cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed.
A graveside memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Armory Hill Cemetery Ilion, with the Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating, Military Honors will follow.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-6 PM.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the DAV Transportation Fund, envelopes will be available at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home
