Denise Catherine Shapiro, 60 of 40 E. River St. in Ilion passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2010 at her home.
Denise was born on June 1, 1950 in Bronx, NY the daughter of John and Catherine Warther.
She was educated in the Bronx and was a graduate of Orange County Community College having earned her RN.
Denise was employed as a nurse at the Horton Hospital in Middletown, NY. Spending much of her extra time devoted to helping other people; after retirement she still spent extra time finding ways to make other people's lives better.
Denise is survived by her daughter Laurel of Ilion and her son Bryan and his wife Amy
Marr, of Greenfield IN. Denise's family was her life; they always came first, and she cherished them with every fiber of her being.
A memorial service for Denise will be held on Saturday August 28, 2010 at 3:30 pm at Harvest Hills Baptist Church in Herkimer.
Friends and family are invited to attend.
In keeping with Denise's wishes there are no calling hours.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
