Donald Charles Perkins

Donald "Perky" Perkins, age 66, of Ilion, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Wynn Hospital in Utica, on May 14, 2024. Born in Utica, he was the son of the late Irene and Donald (Dillenbeck) Perkins.
A dedicated man, Perky worked tirelessly to provide for his family, embodying the spirit of a life well-lived. His love for the outdoors was unparalleled; he found joy in camping and cherished the times spent by the fire with friends, sharing stories and laughter.
Perky leaves behind his partner in life and love, JoAnn Schook, and his children: John and Steven Llewellyn of Tennessee, Jessica and Joe Ingraham of Syracuse, Jeff and Jennifer Llewellyn of Ilion, Jacob Llewellyn of Florida, and Melissa Marriott with her partner George Youngs of Frankfort. He was a proud grandfather to Jade, Kayden, McKenna, Xavier, Josie, and Jase.
He will also be dearly missed by his sisters, Shawn Perkins of Herkimer and Sue Perkins of Ilion; his niece and nephew, Amanda and Timothy Perkins of Albany; and his niece, Tanya and Thomas Schumacher of Herkimer; and several great nieces and great nephews. Perky was predeceased by his Uncle Charles Dillenbeck and cousin Larry Dillenbeck.
A celebration of Perky's life will be held at Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St., Ilion, NY, on May 18, 2024. Friends and family are invited to gather from 11 AM to 12 PM, with a funeral service to follow. We will honor his legacy of kindness, humor, and music, remembering him as a man who made every moment count.
