Donn C. Ahern, 76, formerly of Ilion passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2011.
Donn was born on September 2, 1934 in Ilion the son of the late Leo B. and Lucile (Carney) Ahern.
He was a graduate of Ilion High School and was a member of The Church of The Annunciation in Ilion.
Donn is survived by his son Donn and his wife Joanna of Denver CO; his daughters Mary and her husband Kim Conley of Ilion, Judy and her husband Jerry Greshel of Schenectady and Annie and her husband Dave Morris of Switzerland; a brother Peter and his wife Joyce of San Diego Ca and a sister Ann Mead of Saratoga NY.
Donn also leaves his seven grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held for Donn on Thursday Septembert 22 at 10 am at The Church of The Annunciation in Ilion, Fr. Anthony Barratt will officiate, assisted by Deacon James Bower.
Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer.
There are no calling hours.
Local arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
