Edmund Joseph 'Ned' Hart

Edmund J. "Ned" Hart, 91 of Fulmer St in Mohawk, passed away on Wednesday June 8, 2011 in the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford.
Ned was born on March 5, 1920 in Little Falls the son of the late Jarius and Mary Jane (Murray) Hart.
He was educated in Herkimer and served in the US Army during WWII, where he saw action in the Battle of The Bulge.
On June 24, 1944 he married the former Thelma Reynolds. Ned held several jobs including assembler at UNIVAC, Partlow Corporation, maintenance and security at HCCC and owned E. J. Hart Sales which sold aluminum windows and doors.
Ned was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk, the Mohawk American Legion, the Alexander Hose Co. in Mohawk and also the Mohawk Exempt Firemen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66years Thelma, two sons Tom and his wife Nancy of Truxton, NY and Brian and his wife Julie of Honeyoye Falls, NY a daughter Cathy and her husband Dennis Prosser of Walworth, NY, Beverly and Herbert McKinney of Mohawk, NY ; his grandchildren Tammy and Joseph Dyer, Tina and Scotty Smith and Jed Hart, Matti Hart.; great grandchildren Jeremy Ryan and Joseph Dyer; his special friends Judy Dutcher and Lisa and Terry Stanley and their children. Ned also leaves several nieces nephews and cousins and family.
He was predeceased by a son David, a brother Bob and his sisters Margaret, Elizabeth, Bernie, Jane and Geraldine.
Funeral service for Ned will be held on Monday June 13, 2011 at 1 pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion, Sr. Mary Jo Tallman will officiate, interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer.
Friends may call on Monday from 11 am until the time of the funeral and are asked to consider memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, Presbyterian Home, and Alexander Hose Company Number One Mohawk New York or a charity of your choice.
Ned's family wish to thank the Folt's Home and the Presbyterian Home, for their wonderful care and compassion shown during his stay.
