Eleanor Marie Riddell

Eleanor "Ellie" Riddell passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Masonic Care Communityin Utica, NY.
Born Eleanor Marie Smith on August 10,1935, she was the eldest daughter of Edwin andGladys Smith.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Alfred and Francis; and three sisters, Ruth,Katherine, and Margery.
Ellie is survived by her husband, Harold "Buck" Riddell; children, Judith (Darin) Schneider of StLouis MO, Tracy (Robert) Miller of Fort Mill, SC, Scott (An) Riddell of Belmont NC, and Mary(David) Strafel of Charlotte NC; two cherished grandsons, John Miller of Georgia, and LukeMiller of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Joseph Smith of Utica; many nieces and nephews, includingtwo special nephews, Steve (Amy) Tines and Robert Tines; special friends, Carol Bors, CarolGollegly, Margaret Riddell, John and Madeline Stephenson, and Steve and Loretta Szczygiel.
Ellie dedicated many years of her life to her role as a banker at Marine Midland Bank, whereshe served with dedication and kindness, touching the lives of countless customers. Sheenjoyed spending time with her family, lunching with her girlfriends, wintering in Myrtle Beach,going on adventures with the Stephensons and Szczygiels, gardening, and contributing to hercommunity through her work and volunteer efforts.
Visitation and an "Ellie-bration" will be held on Friday, June 7th, 2024 from 12pm - 2pm at theWhiter-Hendrix Funeral Home 100 Otsego St. Ilion, NY 13357.
