Elizabeth Rood, 62, passed away, Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Faxton-St. Lukes Health Care. She was born September 13, 1955 in Utica and was the daughter of the late Earl and Amy Marriott Ward. Liz was a graduate of Waterville High School and on November 8, 1975 she was united in marriage with Bernard Rood.
Liz was an active member of the Peoples Undenominational Church of Cedarville and had been employed as a CNC machine operator at Fermer Precision until her retirement.
Liz is survived by her husband Bernie, two daughters and sons in law, Sally Jo and William Pierce of Herkimer and Mindy and Jason Failing of Ilion, her grandchildren Dylan and Brandon Pierce, Sahlenna, Sahvanna and Jason Failing Jr. and Kyra Santana. She is also survived by her brother Earl Ward of Ilion, three sisters, Florence and Jim Waller of Ilion, Brenda and Jose Velazquez and Toni Velazquez all of Utica and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, May 11, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, funeral services will be at 6:00 PM with Pastor David Schlaegel officiating.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Peoples Undenominational Church of Cedarville in Liz's Memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
