Elizabeth J. (Betty) Stephens, 81, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Albany Medical Center. Betty was born on April 12, 1937 in Ilion, the daughter of the late William and Grace Stephens McCoy VanAlstine. She was educated in Frankfort-Schuyler Schools and was employed as a nurses aid at the Herkimer Hospital and as a teachers aid at Benton Hall Acadamy, Little Falls prior to her retirement.
Betty is survived by three daughters, Deb Peterson, Kathy Eckler and Kim Hight, her grandchildren, Stepahanie, Travis, Danielle and Elyssa Hight, Ricky and Nikki Eckler, Jonathan, Ali, Mike, Kim, Seth, Kelly and Jason Peterson. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Aneilia, Carmin, Lexi, Addie, Eli and Magnolia.
In keeping with Betty's wishes there will be no public calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc. 100 Otsego St., Ilion.
