Emily Tibor Couchman, 91, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford. Emily was born October 11, 1924 in Bridgeport, Conn. the daughter of the late John and Mary Gyongosi Tibor and was educated in Bridgeport and Stratford, Conn. On June 26, 1946 she was united in marriage with Harry Couchman at St. James Church, Conn., he passed away November 13, 2008.
Mrs. Couchman was employed as office coordinator in employee relations at Remington Arms retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church and was an avid gardener and needle crafter who loved to cook and host family gatherings.
Emily is survived by her sister and brother in law Veronica and Paul Hugick of Richfield Springs as well as several nieces and nephews along with grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two infant sons, four brothers Louis, Andrew, John, and Edward Tibor and three sisters, Helen Tibor, Mary Solinski, and Anna Coughlin.
In keeping with Emily's wishes there are no calling hours, a funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 10, 2015 at 10:30 am the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion. Rev. Heather Benson will officiate.
Interment will be in the Armory Hill Cemetery with her husband Harry.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Alzheimer's Assoc. 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, N.Y. 13204, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
