Emily E. Van Sickle, 93, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 with her family by her side.
Emily was born on August 16, 1923 in Ilion, the daughter of the late William Ward and Blanche (Griffin) Ward.
She received her education in Ilion and on May 21, 1941 she was united in marriage to William C. Van Sickle.
He passed away on June 20, 1997.
Emily spent most of her life taking care of her home and enjoyed raising her children.
Emily is survived by her son, Edward and his wife, Barbara Van Sickle of Norman, OK, her daughters and son-in-laws, Linda Burton, of SC, Betty and Lee Sterling, of Mohawk, NY, Karen and John Konik, of Little Falls, NY, a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Van Sickle of Ilion, NY.
Emily also leaves several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Emily was pre-deceased by a son, William, her brothers, William and Raymond Ward and a sister, Jayne Annosse.
Emily's family wish to give special thanks to Patti Phelps Sohns and Mary VanSickle for always being there for her.
Funeral services for Emily will be private and at the convenience of her family.
Interment will take place in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion in the spring.
Keeping with Emily's wishes there will be no public calling hours.
