Esther Rickard, 76, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer.
Esther was born on January 3, 1939 in Ilion, the daughter of the late Wallace and Edna Munro Tucker.
Esther was a graduate of Mohawk Central School and in 1989 graduated from MVCC. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a mental health advisor with United Cerebral Palsy at the James H. Buckley Facility in Little Falls. Esther was a member of the Mohawk Reformed Church and enjoyed ceramics, watching movies and word search puzzles, while she was still able she enjoyed walking everywhere.
Esther is survived by two sons and a daughter in law; Steven Rickard of Port St. Lucie FL,
Glenn and Missy of Williamstown, WV, two daughters and their husbands Shelly and Bryan Smith of Richfield Springs, Katherine and Sam Bianchi of Frankfort, two brothers and a sister in law Eugene Tucker of Mohawk, and Gary and Kathleen Tucker of Ilion, a sister and brother in law Linda and Robert VanEvera of Canastota. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Esther was pre deceased by her daughter and son in law Rebecca and Gary Dygert and a sister in law Eleanor Tucker.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, October 3, 2015 from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc. 100 Otsego St., Ilion with Pastor Brian Engle officiating. Interment will follow in the Mohawk Cemetery.
In keeping with Esther's wishes there are no calling hours. Friends are asked to consider memorial to The James H. Buckley U.C.P Facility in Little Falls, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
