Ethel Veronica Maloy Depalma, 78, formerly of Utica, went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2014.
She was born December 12, 1935 in Antwerp, NY, daughter of Robert and Laura Harris Maloy.
She was a 1954 graduate of Antwerp High School, and attended the Utica School of Beauty Culture, where she earned her Beautician's license.
She was employed for many years at the Elite Beauty Salon in the Whitestown Shopping Plaza.
Ethel was married to Michael Depalma in Utica on April 27, 1963.
Mr. Depalma passed away on August 24, 1996.
Ethel loved to play the piano and had a lovely singing voice.
She was a member of the choirs at St. Mark's Church in North Utica, St. Anthony/St. Joseph Church in Herkimer and Annunciation Church in Ilion.
Ethel is survived by a brother, Russell Maloy and his wife Joan, sisters, Evelyn Brand, Margaret Dutton and Helen Fuhrman and husband Rick, sisters-in-laws Lorraine Maloy and Marion Maloy and a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Douglas, Walter, William and Carl, and a sister, Julia Dougall, sister-in-laws Beverly, Nancy, Amelia, Marilyn and brothers-in-laws Fred Brand, James Dougall and Carl Dutton.
The family extends its sincere appreciation to the Folts Home for the compassion and care given to Ethel.
A funeral Mass will be offered in the spring in Antwerp, New York; interment will also take place at that time.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
