Frank J. Laymon, 73 of Herkimer, New York passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Little Falls Hospital in Little Falls, New York.
He was born in Johnstown, New York on May 9, 1942 the son of the late Daniel Laymon and Eltha Hodge Laymon and attended local schools.
Frank was employed with Union Tools in Frankfort prior to his retirement, he was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed following Ilion High School basketball, going out to dinner, playing the lottery and Bingo.
Frank is survived by two sisters, Jean Haggerty and Donna Crim both of Herkimer, three brothers, Jerry Laymon and his wife, Elizabeth, Ilion, William and his wife, Phyllis of Malone, Larry and his wife Rebecca of Ilion, and Timothy Laymon of Herkimer, his aunt Edna Mitchell of Whitesboro and his brother in law Ronald Young of Herkimer along with several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Norma Young and Nancy Laymon and a brother, Daniel (Butch) Laymon and two nephews David Crim and Daniel Laymon.
A memorial service will be held at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 7:00 PM with Sr. Mary Jo Tallman, officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will take place in Armory Hill Cemetery Wednesday morning at 10am.
