Gene R. Ebling, 60 of Stroupe Rd. in Ilion passed away on Monday February 16, 2015 at Faxton St. Luke's Hospital in New Hartford.
Gene was born on March 26, 1954 in Silver Creek, NY, the son of Eugene and Dorothy (Allen) Ebling.
He was a 1972 graduate of Fredonia Central School. On February 25, 1978 he married the former Janice Ernst in Forestville, NY.
His favorite job was working in the Soil and Water Conservation field.
Gene is survived by his wife Janice, formally of Forestville, NY; his mother Dorothy of Portland, NY; two daughters Rachel and Rebekah, both of Ilion; two brothers James and his wife Tanya and Matthew and his wife Tracey both of Fredonia; two sisters Sandra and her husband Dan Maggio of Fredonia and Julie and her husband Tom Obert of Portland, NY; a granddaughter Kaydence Kinney as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father Eugene.
Gene, better known as "Rusty," loved his family with all of his heart.
He was a man who was very devoted to his family, friends, and country.
In keeping with Gene's wishes, there are no public calling hours or funeral.
