Gloria A. Robertson, 74, of 6 Sunset Avenue, passed away Sunday November 11, 2012 at Faxton-St Luke's Medical Center.
Gloria was born on August 3, 1938 in Utica. She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Agnes Roberts Light. She attended New Hartford schools and was a graduate of Proctor High School and the Utica State School of Nursing.
On May 21, 1960 Gloria was united in marriage to Robert H. Robertson in New York Mills.
Gloria was employed as a Registered Nurse with the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home until her retirement.
Gloria was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ilion. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, reading, and entertaining family and friends with her renowned sense of humor. She was most of all a mother and homemaker, raising the family while Bob served in the Army.
Gloria is survived by her husband Bob of Ilion, four daughters and sons in law Kathleen and Dana Stefanec of Mohawk; Karen Anne and Jonathan Fukes of Schuyler; Rebecca and Enrigue Feliciano of New Castle, DE; and Cynthia and Chad McCaulley of Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
She is also survived by three sisters and brothers in law Geraldine and John Parry of Sauquoit, Bonnie and Mike Guarno of Utica, and Debra and Dave Chappel of Utica; 10 grandchildren Melissa, Emily, Heather, Jacob, Stephanie, Christopher, Elizabeth, Matthew, Nicole and Kimberly; and six great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one brother and three sisters.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral service for Gloria. It will be held Friday November 16, 2012 at 2:30 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc., located at 100 Otsego Street Ilion. In keeping with Gloria's wishes, there are no public calling hours.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Herkimer County Humane Society PO Box 73, Mohawk NY 13407 or the Ayres Memorial Shelter 133 Hill Top Road, Sprakers, NY 12166
in Gloria's memory.
