Harold Knowles, 91, of 80 East North St. in Ilion.
Passed away on Monday August 3, 2009 at Faxton-St. Luke's health Care, in New Hartford.
Harold was born on August 5, 1917 in Waterbury CN.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army with the 10th Mountain Div. in Italy.
On November 20, 1938 he was married to Anna Madaras in Herkimer.
She passed away on February 3, 1976. On October 8, 1977 he married Bernadette Quesnel in Frankfort.
She passed away on March 16, 1992.
Harold was employed at UNIVAC in Ilion and Utica for 31 years, retiring in January of 1977.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ilion, the UNIVAC 25 year club, the American Legion Post # 25 in Mohawk and the AARP chapter 1410.
Harold is survived by two step daughters, Alma Entwistle of Litchfield and Nancy Hart of Ilion, he also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins and a very special friend Lois Knight of Ilion.
He was predeceased by his son Harold.
In keeping with Harold's wishes there will be no public calling hours or funeral.
Interment will take place in Crown Hill Memorial Park in the Town of Kirkland.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
