Helen E. DeVere, 89 of Ilion, passed away on Monday September 19, 2016 at Mohawk Valley Health Care in Ilion.
Helen was born on January 30 1927 in Herkimer, she was the daughter of the late William and Alma (Beauchamp) Reese.
She was a graduate of Ilion Schools and worked as a data processor for Remington Arms, until her retirement.
Helen was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the VFW Post 502 Auxiliary, the America Legion Auxiliary and an associate member of the Herkimer County Marine Corp League.
Helen is survived by two sons David of OR and Patrick and his wife Dawn of NC; a daughter Rebecca Daly of Ilion and a sister in law Sharon Bowers of FL. 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Robert Reese and a sister Geraldine Collard.
In keeping with Helen's wishes there are no calling hours.
A celebration of Helen's life will be held on Sunday October 2, 2016 from 1-4pm at the Ilion Moose Lodge 1010, 302 Barringer Rd.in Ilion.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
