Helen I. Jennison 90 of 104 N. Washington Street, Herkimer passed away Wednesday May 24, 2017 at St Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica. With her family by her side.
Helen was born July 27, 1926 in Ilion the daughter of the late Anthony and Mildred Snyder Smaldone and was educated in the Ilion School District. On September 6, 1947 Helen was united in marriage with Donald Jennison in Ilion, Don passed away February 22, 2003.
Helen was employed as a Bench Worker with Remington Arms in Ilion for 15 years, retiring in 1985.
Helen was a member of the Herkimer Free Methodist Church, a Life Member of the Marine Corps League Aux, a Life Member of the VFW Aux and a Life Member of the DAV Aux Utica Chapter and also a member of the Valley Chapter 82 Order of the Eastern Star.
Helen is survived by a daughter Mildred "Boots" Schuyler of Mohawk, her sister Lucia Hight of Ilion, and a brother Anthony Smaldone of Frankfort. Her grandchildren Tammi and Mark Netti, Helena and
Larry Mead, Frances and Amanda Young, Eric and Danielle Comes, Matthew Comes, Fred, Nikka, Renee Schuyler, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Donald J. in 1949, two daughters Donna in 1967 and Cheryl Lynn Comes in 2003, she is also predeceased by a brother Lewis Smaldone, and a sister Myrtle Spencer.
In keeping with Helen's wishes there will be no public calling hours or funeral service. Funeral arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street, Ilion. There will be Grave side services on June 3, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor
