Hubert T. Kay, 77, of State Rt. 51 in Ilion passed away on April 12, 2011 at Bassett Health Care in Cooperstown.
Hubert was born in Laurahitte, Poland on November 3, 1933.
He was educated in Poland and in 1955 he joined the US Army, serving as a PFC, until 1956.
Hubert worked as a mechanic for Northern Paving in Utica, retiring several years ago.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Hubert is survived by his companion of 35 years Betty Leitz and her daughters Billie Jean Leitz and Margo Damiano; his loving daughter Lucy Spina; a sister JoAnna Ossowski; grandson Anthony Spina and his nephews John and Stanley Ossowski.
He also leaves his canine friend Pepper.
In keeping with Hubert's wishes there are no calling hours and a graveside service will be held in the Freys Bush Cemetery, at a date and time to be announced.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
