Ida Frances Aversa

Frankfort - Mrs. Ida Frances Aversa, 91, of Frankfort, passed away on December 18, 2023 at the Sitrin Home in New Hartford with her loving family by her side.
Ida was born on December 20, 1931 in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Anthony and Frances Donato Malta. Ida attended Herkimer Schools. She was married to Joseph G. Aversa, Sr. on June 17, 1950, a blessed union they shared until his passing on March 31, 1998. She was employed as a Manager with Marriott Corp. for many years.
Ida is survived by her beloved children, Frances Aversa of Ilion, Joseph Aversa of Frankfort, David Aversa and his wife, Amy of Clinton, and Lisa Fitzgerald and her companion George Derby of Utica; her beloved grandchildren, Dana DiRienzo, Jeremy DiRienzo, Alicia DiRienzo, Valerie Aversa, Kayla Aversa, Adryan Martinez, Timothy Thomas, Kortney Clapp, Anthony Thomas, Morgan Paolucci and Zachary Aversa; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Calling hours will be held at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. in Ilion on Friday, December 22 from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 23 at 10:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, 412 S. Frankfort St. in Frankfort, with Father Paul Catena, officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery later in the spring.
