Irene Ochodnicky, 67 of 236 Flower Drive, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at St. Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford.
Irene was born on January 14, 1947 and was raised by her foster parents Merton and Marion Woodard.
She was a graduate of Mohawk Central School, and was employed as a retail manager with The Fashion Bug store in Utica.
Irene attended the North Columbia Methodist Church, was a former member of the Valley Voices for Christ and taught ceramics for several years.
Irene enjoyed animals and playing the piano.
Irene is survived by a daughter and son in law Angela and William Donahue, a son and daughter in law Christopher and Valerie Cable, her granddaughters Sarah Zawatski
and her husband Jason, Elizabeth Blovat and a step granddaughter Brittany Weller, her grandsons Seth Blovat and step grandson Zackary Goodspeed, also one great granddaughter Emma Sharon Zawatski.
She is also survived by her special family friends Don and Marcell Haponski, Lorraine Verdura and Peggy and George Casale, also her longtime companion, her dog Tucker.
Friends are invited to attend memorial services for Irene to be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street, Ilion, with Pastor Hans Drews officiating.
Friends may call from 2:00 until the time of the service.
