Irving S. Ward Sr., 89, passed away Tuesday January 31, 2017 at Mohawk Valley Health Care, Ilion.
He was born on December 21, 1927 in Ilion the son of the late Arthur D. and Jessie Sheaf Ward.
Irving was educated locally graduating from Frankfort-Schuyler High School and on November 30, 1949 he was united in marriage with Dorothy Caldwell. He and his wife operated the family farm until retiring in 1994. He was a member of the W. Schuyler United Methodist Church, a former member of the Schuyler Vol. Fire Dept. He and Dorothy spent all their time together, working the farm, riding their twin John Deere snowmobiles, riding their four wheelers and taking long rides in the country.
Irving is survived by his wife Dorothy, several brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son Irving Jr.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, with Pastor Cindy Mararchuk officiating. Interment will be in West Schuyler Cemetery in the spring, friends may call Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral.
