In Loving Memory of James F. Matousek, Jr.
James F. Matousek, Jr., 84, passed away on April 5, 2024, at Nursing Home Masonic Care Community in Utica, NY, with his beloved wife by his side.
James was born on August 1, 1939, in Baltimore, MD, to the late James F. Matousek, Sr. and Mae Watts Matousek.
He dedicated much of his life to his work as a Plant Manager, displaying exceptional skill and commitment. James's career achievements were numerous, notably his tenure at Dupont, where he began working in 1961. Rising through the ranks, he eventually ran the Glasgow Division & Pen Cader Composites Companies before retiring in 1993 after 32 years of dedicated service. His professional journey brought him to Herkimer when Dupont acquired Remington Arms Co, a testament to his adaptability and expertise.
James pursued his education with passion, majoring in Biology & Chemistry and obtaining his Masters Degree from Western Maryland University. His thirst for knowledge and dedication to learning were evident throughout his life.
James is preceded in death by his beloved parents, James F. Matousek, Sr. and Mae Elizabeth Matousek (Watts).
He is survived by his devoted wife, Louella Virginia Matousek (Ott) of Utica, NY; his cherished sons, James F. Matousek, III (Sandra) of Arlington, TN, and Robert Adam Matousek (Fatima) of Waller, TX; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. James will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Friends and family are invited to honor James's life at the Mohawk Reformed Church on April 27, 2024, from 3 PM to 4 PM. A funeral service, officiated by Reverend Brian Engel, will follow the visitation.
