Jane Johnson, 88, passed away Monday, February 20, 1017 at the Folt's Home, Herkimer, Jane was born in Ilion on September 12, 1928, the daughter of the late James and Mildred Nolda Russell. And graduated from Ilion High School. Jayne was united in marriage with Berton C. Johnson in Ilion on September 25, 1948. Bert passed away August 25, 2004.
Jane was a member of the Church of The Annunciation and was very active with the Church, a member of The Autobahn Society, Mohawk Valley Alpines', Ilion Garden Club, Ilion Historical Club, she also enjoyed playing golf, hiking, birds watching and animals in general.
Jane is survived by her son Thomas and his significant other Debby LaMondie of Ilion, her daughter and son in law Susan and Bruce Ackerley of Sutton, Mass., also a special lifelong friend Beverly Cristman.
In keeping with Jayne's wishes there will be no calling hours, friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial from the Church of The Annunciation, to be held on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Paul Catena officiating. Interment will be in the spring will at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to the Herkimer County Humane Society PO Box 73, Herkimer, and NY 13350 in Jane's memory, envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at church...
