Jeanette R. Boyd, a longtime resident of Ilion, NY, died June 24, 2015.
She was born April 17, 1933 in Herkimer, NY, the daughter of George E. Hall and Jean Guidi.
She was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1951.
On November 28, 1953, she was married to Charles E. Boyd in St. Joseph's Church in Herkimer, NY, a loving partnership lasting 45 years until his passing in 1999.
Jeanette loved to read and enjoyed completing the daily crossword puzzle.
She knitted and crocheted beautifully and her green thumb produced uninterrupted color in her summer flower gardens. She enjoyed watching the birds at her feeder and was especially fond of dogs. Jeanette was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her extreme generosity and her commitment to her family.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brady E. and Mary Boyd of Ilion, NY, and William B. and Christine Boyd of Fort Myers, FL, five grandchildren, Andrew, Philip, and Matthew Boyd, and Bryan and Jessica Boyd, two great-grandsons, Ace and Rex Boyd, a brother, George Hall, an aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her dog, Jazzy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chuck, her parents, a sister, Beverly Carnright, and her beloved grandparents, Agostino and Faustina Guidi.
In keeping with Jeanette's wishes there will be no calling hours, a graveside service will be held Tuesday June 30, 2015, at 11:00 AM in the Mohawk Cemetery, with Deacon James Bower officiating.
In lieu of flowers friends are asked to consider memorials to the Herkimer County Humane Society, PO Box73, Mohawk 13407 or the Ilion Free Public Library, 78 West St., Ilion, 13357, envelopes are available at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home or at the Mohawk Cemetery at the service. Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion.
