Joan Parfey Trevett, formerly of Ilion, passed away 12/26/2020 at the age of 96 in Erie, PA.
Joan was born in Sawston, Cambridgeshire, England on June 29, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Kathrine (Turner) Parfey. Joan arrived in the United States as a WW II war bride of Harry R. Hart (deceased). She married George E. Trevett, Jr. (deceased) in May of 1952.
Employed by several businesses in the Mohawk Valley, she worked for many years at the P&C in Ilion, and retired from the Wards Co. In Herkimer and continued to work part-time at Hemstrought Bakery in Ilion.
Her family meant everything to her and was always loving and supportive to each one of them. Joan will be remembered for her caring nature and her willingness to always aid a friend. In her retirement years she spent her time knitting, reading, cooking and working crossword puzzles. Joan was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and was fortunate enough to have met Jim Kelly.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Hart) Rutter (Allan, deceased) of Erie PA, Danny M. Trevett (Iva) of Herkimer, NY and James P. Trevett (Patrica) of Tampa, Fl.
Along with seven grandchildren, Michael Rutter (Natalie) and Joanne Galley (Chris); Matt (Andera) and Adam (Emily) Trevett; Jamie Elthorp (Dan), Bryan and Ali Trevett and eight great-grandchildren, Issac and Alix Rutter; Deakon and Danika Elthorp; Maddie, Macy Joan, Novaleigh, and Kash Trevett and also by many nieces and nephews. She also leave her special and loving friends; Sheila Haggerty and the Gage family.Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred and sister-in-law, Pam.
At the family's request there will be no visiting hours and a graveside ceremony will take place on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 11:30amat the Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Joan's name to a the Ilion Ambulance Fund 1 Central Ave. Ilion, NY 13357.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
