Joann Savicki, 75, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Mohawk Valley Health Care. She was born on December 19, 1940 the daughter of the late Joseph and Marietta Moreau.
Joann was a graduate of Mt Markham schools and also HCCC with a degree in Business Management, being the first in her family to attend college. She was employed as a Teachers Aid for reading in the Sauquoit School District until her retirement. She was a strong supporter of the Herkimer County Humane Society.
Joann is survived by a son Steven Morris of Utica, three daughters and two sons in law Laurie Maurer of Rolla, MO, Michelle and Steve Waite and Susan and Greg Hook of Ilion, her grandchildren Thomas Waite of Saranac Lake, Alexander Maurer and his wife Kassi of Rolla, MO, Ryan Waite of Ilion, Jesse McDowell of Rochester and Conor Hook of Ilion. She is also survived by her sister and brother in law Dawn and Steve Cawley of Ilion and a brother Gary Moreau of FL. Joann was pre deceased by her son John Morris.
In keeping with her wishes there are no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held Monday October 31st, 2016 at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St, Ilion with Deacon James Bower officiating. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, North Ilion.
