John W. Kolar

Ilion John W. Kolar 91, of Ilion, passed away on Friday January 8, 2021 at the Grand in Ilion.
John was born on August 18, 1929 in Smithfield NY, he was the son of, the late, Wesley and Margurete Kolar.
He was a graduate of Cazenovia Schools and served in the US Marine Corp from 1953-56.
On July 14, 1956 he was united in marriage to Barbara Brockway in the Town of Paris.
John was a sales representative for Met Life in Utica, retiring several years ago.
John was a member of the Marine Corp League in Ilion
John is survived by a daughter in law Kimberly and two brothers Bruce and Tim.
He is predeceased by two sons Kevin and Keith both in 2019.
In keeping with family wishes there will be a graveside service for John, Barb and Kevin, in the spring, at the Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.
Military honors for John will be part of the service.
Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
