Jon Christian Pedersen

Ilion - Mr. Jon Christian Pedersen, 72, passed away on April 1, 2024 at the Wynn Hospital in Utica.
Jon was born on April 23, 1951 in Herkimer, a son of the late Robert and Eleanor Dutcher Pedersen. He attended Ilion Schools and graduated from Ilion High School with the class of 1969 and he went on to obtain his Associate's Degree. He was employed as a Machine Operator with Remington Arms Co. in Ilion for many years. Jon was married to Sharon Dye on August 3, 1974. The two shared a blessed union until Sharon's passing in 2020.
Jon is survived by his three sons; Alan Pedersen and wife, Sherry of New Hartford, NY, Thomas Pedersen of Ilion, NY and Robert Pedersen of Big Pine Key, FL; grandchildren, Nathen Pedersen and his wife, Amanda of Ilion, NY, Kayleigh Jouben and her husband, Joe, of Newport, NY, Trinity Pedersen, Taylor Pedersen and Tia Pedersen of Ilion, NY, Thomas, and Jonathon and Evan Pedersen of North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Joey and Jett Jouben and Logan and Anyaleigh Pedersen, Jon is also survived by his sister, Roberta Mahlmeister and husband, Michael of The Villages, Florida; brothers in law, Keith Dye and his wife Barb and Ken Dye and several nieces and nephews.
Jon was predeceased by his wife, Sharon, his parents Robert and Eleanor; brothers in law, Steven and Mitchell Dye and a sister in law, Coleen Dye.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion, where Jon will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Sharon. In keeping with Jon's wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. Ilion, NY 13357.
