Jule F. Ackley, 89 of Manassas, VA formerly of Ilion, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016.
Jule was born on December 12, 1926 in Plains, PA, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Frances (Ryan) Guinane.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Plains, PA. On December 28, 1946 she married William "Bill" Ackley in Plaines, PA.
Bill passed away in 2013.
Until her retirement in 1986, Jule worked as a cafeteria supervisor at Mohawk Valley General Hospital.
Jule was a member of the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion where she served as Eucharistic Minister.
She was a member of Catholic Daughters Court of St. Bridget #265 and the Retired Citizens Volunteer Program AARP.
Jule is survived by her son, John and his wife Valerie of Gansevoort, NY and her daughter, Marilyn and her husband Salvatore Guarniere of Haymarket, VA.
Jule is also survived by five grandchildren; Jessica Benninghoff, Jennifer Loeffler, Patrick Guarniere, Ryan Guarniere and Sarah Turner. She also leaves 10 great grandchildren.
Jule is also survived by her brother, Thomas J. Guinane and his wife, Joan and a sister-in-law, Mildred Ackley.
She was predeceased by her sisters Jean Milligan, Peggy Brennan and Rosalie Guinane.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 15 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion with Fr. Paul Catena officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 4-7 pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc., 100 Otsego St. in Ilion.
