Justine L. Wedemeyer 66, of 517 Keys Road, passed away Monday July 29, 2013 at Faxton, St. Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford, with her loving family by her side.
Justine was born January 17, 1947 in Ilion, NY the daughter of the late Ward and Dorthea (Chittick) Crandall and was educated in the Ilion Schools and Utica College. On September 17, 1966 Justine was united in marriage to Donald Wedemeyer at St. Augustine's Church, Ilion.
Justine was employed as an accountant with Bank of America retiring several years ago.
Justine was a great supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Food Pantry at St. Albins Episcopal Church in Auburndale, Florida.
Justine was a loving mother and the greatest love she gave was to her four grandchildren.
She was the bravest soul I have known. Justine was a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Ilion.
Justine is survived by her husband Donald, a son Brian Wedemeyer of Herkimer, two daughters and sons in law Tracy and John Sommer of Mohawk ,Wendy and Tim Weakley of Orlando, Fl., a sister Cathy and Dennis Botteon of CA., four grandchildren Zachary, Kaylee, Connor and Savannah,
her close friends Pat Richardson, Char Phillips and Bobby Sommer, two special neighbors Cathy Fuller and Dawn Ortlieb. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, sisters in law, brothers in law and her loving cousin Tom of Maryland, also special friends Linda and Steve of North Carolina.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral service for Justine to be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc., 100 Otsego Street, Ilion with Fr. John Bassett officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to the time of the funeral.
The family would like give a special thank you to the St Luke's Home staff especially Marge, Geneva, Angie, Vicky, Jamie and Karen also the CCU staff at St Luke's especially Mary, and the Bond Clinic staff in Winter Haven Florida.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to St Jude's Children's Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale St., Memphis, Tn. 38105 in Justine's memory, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
