Kathy Jo Pickett

Ilion - Kathy J. Pickett, 55, of Ilion, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025 at the Wynn Hospital in Utica, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on May 22, 1970, in Ilion, a daughter of the late Joseph H. Pickett and Delores Gail Pickett. Kathy was a proud graduate of Ilion High School, class of 1988. Her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were reflected in her role as a Hand Binding Manager at QMC Group in Liverpool, NY. She was well respected by her colleagues and brought an infectious enthusiasm to her work.

Family was at the heart of Kathy's life. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Stephanie Pickett and her boyfriend, Andrew Gauthier of Herkimer; her step-children, Nicole, Tiffany and Teddy Sutton; her grandchildren, Landon, Taner, Lilly, Connor, Emma & Bryce who brought immense joy to her life; one brother, Bill Carpenter and his wife, Rhonda of PA; two sisters, Carolyn Platt and her fiancé Steve Plunkett and Linda Carpenter, all of Ilion; her nephews and nieces, Jennifer, Jake, Erica and Tara Carpenter, Kayla Lansdall and her husband Chris and Rileigh and Kayne Plunkett; her great-nieces and nephews, Alec, Jack, William, Philip, Olivia, and Christopher. Kathy was predeceased by her nephew Todd Pickett. In addition to her family, Kathy had a close-knit group of friends. She shared many beautiful moments with her special friends from the Ilion Fish & Game Club. Kathy will be remembered for her kindness, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering love for those around her.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 2-4 pm in the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathy's life and memory, honoring the incredible woman she was.
