Kay Lorene Juteau

Herkimer — Mrs. Kay Lorene Juteau, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born in Ilion, on September 25, 1951, Kay was the cherished daughter of the late Gordon John and Anna Boland Fikes. She spent her formative years in Ilion, graduating from Ilion Schools with fond memories and lifelong friendships. Kay was known for her kindness, laughter, and the love she showered on those around her. She was married to the late Edmund P. Juteau, Jr.

Kay was employed with Kmart in Herkimer, where she dedicated 19 years as the head of the Jewelry Department. She was admired for her leadership, work ethic, and the genuine care she extended to her colleagues and customers alike.

Kay's family was the center of her world. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Robert G. Juteau and his wife, Ritamarie, of Ilion; her two treasured granddaughters, Gemma and Gianna Juteau, who brought immense joy to her life; two brothers, Ronald Fikes of Ilion, and Rodney Fikes and his wife Dolly, of Mohawk; one sister, Karen Jewell and her husband, Jack, of Ilion, as well as her sisters-in-law, Kathy Fikes of Schenectady and Sandy Fikes of Mohawk, and many nieces and nephews.

Kay is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Edmund P. Juteau, Jr; two brothers, Richard and William Fikes; her nephew, Bryce Jewell; and her best friend, Anna Miller.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home. Kay will be laid to rest alongside her beloved family in Cedarville Cemetery on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 10:00 am.
