Kevin "Wheels" Wheelock, 62, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday June 5, 2021, at the Grand in Ilion with his family by his side.
Kevin was born on November 30, 1958 in Ilion. He was the son of the late Howard and Doris (Crim) Wheelock.
He attended Ilion Schools and was a working supervisor at Mohawk DPW until his retirement.
On April 29, 1989, he married the former Cathy Eaker in the Ilion Presbyterian Church.
Wheels was very active in fire service throughout his life serving in both the Ilion and Frankfort Volunteer fire dept. He was active and loved firematics serving as President of both the NNYP & DTCA and NYSP & DTCA.
In addition, he was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Ilion Elk's, Ilion K of C, St. Francis and FOE.
Along with firematics, Wheels loved camping and boating and often combined his loves into weekends with friends and family.
Kevin is survived by his wife Cathy; three sons, Jason and his wife, Heidi Wheelock and Jim and his wife Stephanie Wheelock, all of Carmel, Brett and Dana Eaker of Lyons and a daughter Jennifer and her husband, Joe Jasek of Dolgeville.
He also leaves his 14 grandchildren, siblings and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Kevin's wishes, all services are private at the convenience of his family.
