Lloyd H. "Red" Hight, 80, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Red was born August 29, 1935 in Schuyler the son of the late Harry and Freda Bunce Hight, he was educated in Frankfort-Schuyler. On October 15, 1955 he was united in marriage with Lucia Smaldone in Ilion.
Red was employed as an inspector with Remington Arms retiring several years ago, he also worked as a mechanic at Phelps's Garage in Ilion for several years. He served in the Army National Guard and was a devoted member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Utica.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Lucy, four children and their spouses, Ted and Judy Hight, Dale and Patricia Hight, John and Judy Hight and LuAnn and David Young all of Ilion, also eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his twin brother Floyd, a brother Otto and a sister Agnes Ward.
Red's funeral service will be 5:00 pm Sunday November 29, 2015 at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, with Pastor Paul Bannister officiating. Interment will take place Monday in the Armory Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 until the service Sunday.
