Madalyn Louise Mowers, 81 of Frankfort, passed away on Monday March 28, 2016, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica, surrounded by her loving family.
Madalyn was born on July 14, 1934, in Wheelock, PA. She was the daughter of the late Paul V. and Mildred M. (Depew) Lines and she was a graduate of Corry, PA schools.
On August 25, 1951, she married Howard A. Mowers in Corry.
Madalyn dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family.
She loved line dancing and family celebrations.
Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, and gardening.
She very much enjoyed nature and bird watching, especially the hummingbirds.
Madalyn was a gifted leader.
She organized and decorated many church dinners, transforming the church basement into a lovely garden, a country barn, or Italian Bistro.
She was a prayer warrior who understood that she was her family's and friends' strongest ally when she was on her knees in prayer. Her greatest joy was her family and her love for the Lord.
Madalyn is survived by her husband, Howard; a son Howard (Ted) and his wife, Lynn Mowers; daughters Rene` Roth; Cindy Brewer and her husband, Rick; Lisa Hatalla; and Amy and her husband, Paul Atwell; 12 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters in law, Amy Lines, and Margaret "Peg" Mowers.
She is predeceased by a brother, Paul Lines, and a sister, Mary Ellen Burger.
Funeral services for Madalyn will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016, at 3pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc., 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. Pastor Walt Wharram will officiate.
Friends may call on Friday from 1pm until the time of the funeral.
Madalyn's favorite color was red.
Friends are asked to wear red to her service in celebration of her life.
